THE TRIAL

For bridal makeup and hair, trials are usually carried out at Laura Holness Cosmetology in Penn, Wolverhampton (WV4 5NE) on Friday's. I always encourage my clients to prepare some photos/ examples for both wedding hair and makeup ready for the trial. At the start of the trial, we will discuss your wedding hair & make up ideas. Most brides want to look like a more enhanced version of themselves on their wedding day, so we will take into account what you normally do with your make-up and discuss how we can best emphasise your features. Ensuring the makeup looks picture perfect on your special day is our main focus. I use a range of products from high end brands, such as Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown and Mac Cosmetics, to achieve a flawless finish.

Choosing your wedding hair & make up look is just as important as choosing your dress as it completes your whole look, therefore a pre-wedding trial is a must to not only give you peace of mind before the day but to ensure everything wears well on your skin. Once you are happy with your chosen look, I will take photos to accompany my notes so it is easy to recreate your look on the big day. We will also talk through logistics & timing for the wedding morning. If there are time restraints or you have a large bridal party, we may need to discuss the possibility of including an assistant artist (additional charges apply). Trials are usually recommended to be carried out around 2-3 months before your wedding day if possible.

THE WEDDING DAY

On the day, your stylist will arrive at your chosen location and set up ready to start in the order most convenient. Usually, makeup is applied first depending on how you are having your hair which can be discussed at your trial. Hair is best to work with when freshly washed and dried (the night before is ideal). If you have particularly curly/frizzy or unruly hair we recommend you smooth out the hair where needed (with a hot appliance) after washing in preparation for styling. This will help ensure a smoother finish

Try to avoid mousse, hair sprays, heavy conditioners or any products that will weigh your hair down. Please moisturise your face with a moisturiser that you are comfortable wearing before we apply a light primer and make up.
